Overview
This unique role gives the opportunity to lead a church family in worshipping God and also making disciples of the next generation. The role would entail leading all 6th-12th graders, making disciples, gathering leaders, and reaching those outside of the church. It would also entail leading the Worship and Tech Ministry. This entails preparing and leading the Sunday gatherings, taking care of all technical elements and our on-line service, recruiting and training volunteers, and leading us into God’s presence through worship music. It’s a big call and a fantastic opportunity.

Responsibilities
WORSHIP ARTS
• Recruiting and training team members
• Scheduling team members
• Providing vibrant Sunday morning worship experiences
• Leading and coaching through rehearsals
• Communicating regularly with the team
• Creating a vibrant team culture
• Overseeing all technical aspects such as lighting, sound and tech gear • Oversee the on-line portion of the service
• Integrate the next generation into the worship experience, recruiting young people to serve
• Introducing new songs that collaborate with current worship music
YOUTH
● Oversee, grow and coordinate the youth ministry
● Equip students in their spiritual growth
● Develop connections with students and their families by spending time inside and outside of church gatherings
● Recruit and train volunteers
● Provide a weekly gathering for students to experience God and community together
● Utilize social media and other areas of communication
● Create opportunities for students to serve through volunteering locally and mission trips
Personal Requirements
● Passionate love for Jesus
● Previous youth ministry experience
● Strong leadership skills
● Able to bring fun, joy and energy
● Able to lead from an instrument, preferably guitar
● General understanding of other musical instruments involved in worship ● Understanding of technical aspects such as lighting, sound and on-line services
● Emotionally healthy
● Grounded deeply in Scripture
● Proactive and a self-motivated learner
● Engaged in our church family through serving, giving and being in a small group
● Easy to work with and very collaborative
● Strong organizational skills
● Great communication skills in all applicable settings
● Flexibility to work on Sundays, at weekly gatherings, and to connect with students in available times, often in the evenings
● Represents Ascent Church with joy, grace, and proactive communication ● BA in Theology, Biblical Studies or ministry desirable
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Hours per week: - 40-50
