Objective:
The Worship Pastor will work closely with the Lead Pastor and Northside Christian Churches vision to cultivate a creative, vibrant, and attractive weekend worship experience for all age groups that help people grow in what it means to be a fully devoted follower of Jesus. The Worship Pastor will demonstrate pastoral leadership both on & off the platform as they not only lead the congregation to become movement-oriented, lifestyle worshippers but also builds & shepherds volunteer teams that live out what it means to Love God and Love Others.
Our ideal candidate would pastor those who attend Northside Christian Church in the lifestyle of worship by:
- Collaborating weekly with Lead Pastor and Worship Planning Team to explore best ways to achieve Northside's vision of a creative, vibrant, and attractive weekend worship experience.
- Growing, investing, and shepherding a vibrant volunteer culture.
- Leading weekly rehearsals that serve a dual purpose: (A) preparation for Sunday and (B) cultivation of Christ-centered worshipful community.
- Developing a vibrant and energetic worship, production, and creative arts teams.
- Creating stage sets, song selections and service flow that amplifies the sermon and leads people to Encounter God.
- Being a staff member that lives Northside’s mission, values, and vision as well as encouraging other staff to do the same.
- Desiring to grow as a leader, worship pastor, and follower of Jesus by learning from other pastors and churches.
- Being a gifted musician, strong vocal/musical talent, and able to recognize gifting in others.
Additional responsibilities:
- Help foster a staff culture of celebrating wins, appreciating volunteers, and where family is a priority.
- Supervise licensing/copyright/trademarks to ensure NCC is in compliance.
- Oversee tech ministry including sound, video, website, graphic design.
- Attend weekly meetings and contribute for general planning/vision of Northside.
- Rotate with other ministers to carry out regular ministerial duties (hosting service, announcements, lock up, Pastor On Call, hospital visits etc).
- Tinker with current processes, procedures to discover opportunities to foster a culture of trying new things.
- Provide counsel and oversee the provision of AVL for special events (Weddings, Funerals, Programs etc).
- Other ministerial duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
Desired Job Qualifications:
- Strong Vocalist and Musician.
- Experience successfully leading, recruiting and developing a team of volunteers.
- Vision-driven and action-orientated with an inherent desire to achieve exceptional results.
- Creative and Collaborative.
- A college degree from an accredited college/university is preferred.
- Knowledge of Planning Center, ProPresenter, Ableton, and other worship related programs.
- Serves as a team player who encourages and supports the rest of the team.
- Able to deal with conflict directly, openly, honestly and graciously.
- Possess organizational and time management skills.
