OVERVIEW

In support of our mission to help make more disciples for Jesus Christ, Wooddale Church is actively seeking a self-motivated, thought leader as our Internship Program Director. This new role is instrumental in developing this program through collaborative vision casting, providing successful coordination well as executing its day-to-day operations. The Internship Director serves as the administrator of our program and is committed to supporting and developing our interns and ministry leaders through strong leadership and relational skills.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, lead implementation and manage an internship program that aligns to the mission and vision of Wooddale Church
  • Cultivate and manage internal and external relationships such as those with local universities and other partnership opportunities (e.g. purpose of networking, recruiting, etc.)
  • Research, network and implement program topics that are relevant and developmental for interns’ growth of body, soul and mind
  • Responsible for building and scheduling a team of people who will invest their time and knowledge into the interns by leading sessions on various topics
  • Consistently invest in, mentor and minister to interns through prayer and team-building events
  • Meet regularly with interns as well as their ministry leaders to ensure expectations and developmental needs are being met
  • Work with each intern and ministry leader to set up and align intern goals, review goals and conduct joint performance reviews 
  • Look for and potentially provide cross functional opportunities for interns outside of their assigned ministry areas by involving pastors and staff across ministries and campus of Wooddale Church

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-10 years of management, ministry or leadership development experience
  • Skilled at recruiting, building, and leading teams 
  • High degree of organizational skills with a strong attention to details, coordination and deadlines
  • Commitment to growing the program through reaching potential interns locally and beyond
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to relate to others
  • A consistent drive to dream, execute and improve internship program
  • Able to navigate problems/conflict and implement solutions
  • Committed to growing as a disciple who is following Jesus, being changed by Jesus and living on mission with Jesus.
  • Committed to the mission, vision, values and leadership of Wooddale Church
  • Experienced in effectively teaching and discipling others consistent with Wooddale’s beliefs
  • Subscribe to and affirm the Statement of Faith and Covenant of Wooddale Church
  • Become or remain a regular participant in weekend services and a member in good standing at Wooddale Church

 

RELATIONSHIPS: 

  • Reports to the Executive Pastor
  • Manage the interns and work closely with their ministry leaders
  • Collaborates and cooperates with other church staff and/or departments as needed


EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK & TRAVEL

This position is expected to be part-time at about 28 hours per week. It also requires the ability to travel to all campuses and off-site for meetings in the surrounding community, as needed, to connect with students and local universities.


WORK ENVIROMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

This job operates in an office setting and will include using standard office equipment. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and reach with hands and arms. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
