Personal Characteristics and Requirements:
· Actively engaged in regular personal Bible study and prayer and show a desire to grow in relation to Jesus Christ by attitude, action and behavior
· In agreement with Bethel’s Articles of Faith and Personnel Handbook
· Have some experience with leading in worship and student ministry
· Minimum of 25 with either a bachelor’s degree in a related ministry field or 4 years’ experience in ministry
· Proficient in teaching Scripture with a knowledge of essential doctrines of the Gospel
· Proficient in singing and playing the guitar or piano
· Proficient in reading and understanding music
· Proficient in leading teams (worship/choir and youth teams) with a spirit of collaboration
· Good communication skills working with all ages of people
· Provide leadership, vision, and oversight to our student ministry (6th-12th grades)
· Provide counsel and discipleship to students and parents
· Develop a philosophy of ministry that reflects a balance between outreach and discipleship
· Plan and coordinate multiple gatherings that include, but is not limited to: Youth Camp, Disciple Now, and other youth gatherings throughout the year to engage in the community building and discipleship
· Lead worship through song on Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings reflective of church style
· Work directly with Pastor to develop the Sunday worship service
· Assist Pastor in overseeing sound, lighting and media related to worship services
· Lead choir as directed
Working relationships
· Report directly to a) Pastor and b) Personnel Committee
· Access to office secretary for assistance in administrative tasks
· Maintains scheduled office hours as appropriate to position and tasks
