Access Church is looking to hire an Associate and Discipleship Pastor to better help us draw people into a growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ. This will be accomplished primarily through leading our small groups ministry and speaking and teaching in partnership with our Lead Pastor.
Primary job responsibilities include training and staying connected with small group facilitators, championing our heart for small groups as a church, establishing clear pathways for people to get connected, and speaking at our weekend services up to 12 times per year.
Formal education is preferred, but not required. We are much more interested in your heart for ministry and helping people grow closer to God. Prior experience with small groups and onboarding systems is a huge plus. Other requirements include good self-management, strong communication skills (both in-person and online), general computer literacy, and be a “people person.”
You will have the opportunity to work alongside other staff members who don’t take themselves too seriously, but who take the mission very seriously. We love to laugh - in fact, sarcasm might be a love language around these parts. And we are brutally authentic, not only with each other, but with the whole church. No one pretends to be something they’re not.
Our mission as a church is to draw people into a growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We do this in many ways, but our primary strategy is to focus on large group gatherings (weekend services), small groups (of all types), and placing a big emphasis on kids ministry. Although we are a relatively small church of about 350 at our Sunday services (post-covid), in our 20 year history we have seen over 2000 people come to Christ! And those are just the ones we’ve been able to count.
This is a full-time position with benefits available. Must be available to work 35+ hours per week, including Sundays. We’re looking for a person who feels passionate about our mission and helping us accomplish the “growing” part of our overall mission. We’re looking for someone who’s in it for the long-haul and who we can partner with for years to come. We’re not interested in someone looking for a “church” job, or looking to use this as a stepping stone to another position up the proverbial ladder.
