Teen Center & Youth Ministry Leader(Interim)

POSITION FOCUS: Our Interim Teen Center & Youth Ministry Leader will further Westminster’s purpose by helping young people – both inside and outside the church – elevate Jesus in every aspect of their lives, be empowered to follow and serve Him more fully, and embody his love to those around us.

We are currently in a time of staff transition, and so we are looking in the short-term for an Interim Leader who can coordinate these ministries and a large team of committed volunteers. This position is currently envisioned to run through the end of May 2026 and would be for 10-15 hours per week. It is conceivable that the Interim Leader could be considered for permanent employment in the role beyond May. It is also possible to separate the Teen Center and Youth roles into two different positions.

The West Teen Center is a large, vital ministry to teens (primarily) from West Middle School, across the street from Westminster. The Teen Center operates in partnership with Love INC, and is currently open on Wednesday afternoons from 3-5:30pm. It is a place where teens are met by name with God’s love and welcome. It is a safe, positive place where kids can find a healthy snack, learn a new skill, grow in a relationship with caring adults who treasure them, and just be a kid. We have seen dozens and dozens of kids powerfully impacted by this environment. It’s not always easy, but it’s so good! Many of these kids, in turn, then participate in Westminster’s Youth Ministry on Wednesday evenings, where they go further in relationships and hear the good news about Jesus Christ.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Interact with students with authenticity, faith, and kindness

·      Communicate and implement discipline and boundaries when necessary

·      Maintain open relationship and communication with West Middle School staff and with Love INC

·      Work together with Westminster staff

·      Lead volunteers with faith and enthusiasm

·      Pray for students and leaders regularly

Teen Center

§ Plan, coordinate, and implement the Teen Center ministry on Wednesday afternoons from 3- 5:30pm (in partnership with our team of volunteers)

Youth Ministry

§ Plan, coordinate, and implement the Youth Ministry on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-8:00pm (in partnership with our team of volunteers)

§ Share biblical, encouraging messages with group

§ Organize off-campus outreach and service projects
