Associate Pastor

Job Description


The Minister of Youth shall be called of God with the primary responsibility of developingcoordinating and administering a comprehensive Christian children/youth programThis person should have the ability to relate tochildren/youth and have received Christian training in this field.


Responsibilities:

a.  Promote, plan, organize and supervise the Youth Ministry of FBC, inclusive of and in addition to, the ways listed in items b-i.

b. Provide youth Bible study classes to teach discipleship and spiritual growth.

c.  Serve as a resource person for the youth Sunday School teachers.

d. Implement and administer an ongoing emphasis on missions by youth through mission projectslocaland beyond, and mission study.

e.  Lead youth on at least one annual trip with the goal of spiritual development.

f.  Develop ways for youth to lead in worship.

g.Recruitleadequipand maintain a Lead Team of adults and youth leaderto assist in any and all youth activities.

h.  Implement an ongoing outreach program targeted at youth in our community.

i.   Provide avenues for crisis counseling situations.

j.   Promote, plan, organize and supervise the Children’s Ministry of FBC in coordination with part-time Assistant Children’s Director.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

a.  Provide an Annual Budget proposal for youth/children to the Finance Committee.

b.  Assist other staff members as needed.


The Associate Pastor shall be a regular participant in the Sunday morning worship services of the church, performing duties as determined by the PastorHe/She will participate with members of church staff to developcoordinated programs that help to accomplish the vision and purposes of the church. He/She shall receive operational guidance from the Pastor. The Associate Pastor will have an Annual Review by the PastorChairmanof Personnel and Chairman of Youth Committee.

First Baptist Church Eatonton Georgia is looking for an Associate Pastor. This full-time position focuses on faith formation among youth and children and their families. It serves the pastoral needs of the church and community along with a Senior Pastor and a part-time Children’s Assistant. Eatonton is a vibrant, growing community in the heart of the Middle Georgia lake country, just over an hour southeast of Atlanta and an hour south of Athens. 

First Baptist Church provides a warm, welcoming place for all to worship. With a very active congregation and strong devoted leadership team, we enjoy worship as well as activities such as 5th Sunday lunch, a robust choir, multiple Sunday School classes, Wednesday night worship and more.
