DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

The Role:

The Director of Children’s Ministry will provide collaborative leadership to the Children’s ministry of Dripping Springs

Presbyterian Church (DSPC) in order to help children and their families experience and make steps towards a deeper maturity in Christ. This person will get to work with kids, sharing how much Jesus loves them and helping them fall in love with God and His word through a variety of activities and lessons.

Key Responsibili6es:

  • Provide a fun, safe environment for children and pre-teens to learn more about God and His word.
  • Provide Leadership, vision, strategic planning, motivation, and support for DSPC’s children’s and preteen ministry.
  • Create and nurture a healthy volunteer culture to help us live our vision to “Know kids, so kids can know God.”
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and paid staff in Children’s ministry.
  • Ensure effective communication with ministry teams, staff, parents, and church at large.
  • Implement and ensure policies and practices are followed in our Child Protection Policy.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of the Children’s ministry programs; including Sunday morning, Family events,

VBS, and others.

  • Work as a specialist in Children’s ministry and a generalist across all of Family ministry. Work as a resource to families and children; initiate relationships with parents and children.
  • Be responsible for planning and managing the children’s ministry budget.
  • Participate in the life and mission of DSPC.
  • Pray regularly for the staff, volunteers, and families of the children’s ministry.

The person:

  • Be a model of a well-formed, yet imperfect follower of Jesus Christ. Your actions and words align.
  • Ability to perform administrative, organizational and project management duties
  • Mature understanding of Biblical teachings and Christian beliefs and the ability to distribute them into simple messages for pre-teens and children
  • Bachelor’s degree in child development or related field
  • Previous experience working with children in a church or academic environment

Relationships:

  • Reports to the Director of Family Ministry
  • Supervises the Director of Pre-K and Nursery staff
  • Works with the Director of Family Ministry, and other DSPC pastors and staff

Employment Status:

This is a full-time or part-time, exempt position
