1st L.G. is seeking a full-time Children’s Minister. If you’re excited about reaching children who don’t know Jesus and help them and their families become passionate followers of Christ, then 1St L.G. might be the place for you!

1st L.G. is a church about 45 minutes south of downtown Atlanta that is committed to reaching our rapidly growing community in relevant ways. We are a Biblically conservative church determined to be current, innovative, and effective in order “to connect with people where they are and help them become passionate followers of Jesus!”

We are looking for a passionate minister to join our team and help us reach out to the children of our community and help them become difference makers for Jesus! 

We believe there is great potential and an excellent opportunity for someone willing to embrace a challenge and desires to be innovative in creating an engaging environment that draws children to Jesus.

Role Summary:

While working in alongside the Lead Pastor, the Children’s Minister is responsible for developing, recruiting, and expanding a children’s ministry that glorifies the Lord and engages with the community. He/she is responsible for giving leadership to all aspects regarding children for 1st L.G. (birth — 5th grade), as well as being a contributing team member serving the general needs of the church. The Children’s Minister reports directly to the Lead Pastor, coordinates with him, and fully supports his vision for the church. The ultimate goal of glorifying Jesus through the Children’s Ministry is to support the mission of our church: “Connect with people where they are and help them become passionate followers of Jesus.”

Responsibilities:

• Maintain an authentic and growing relationship with Jesus
• Develop relationships with the people in our church
• Intentionally invest in lost people so they can come to know Jesus
• Plan and coordinate with the Lead Pastor
• Provide leadership and oversight for all the Children’s Ministry (Sunday morning gatherings, Wednesday night gathering, Children’s outings, Children’s Summer and Winter events, curriculum selection and development, safety protocols, communication with the church and families, etc.)
• Build, recruit, and train the necessary teams needed in carrying out the Children’s Ministry
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Pastor

• Have a clear calling to serve as a Children’s Minister
• Become a member of FBCLG and fully embrace the mission, vision, and values of the church
• Love reaching the unchurched
• Possess a passion for children and to see families grow in their faith together 
• Have a high commitment to the local church
• Biblically grounded, theologically conservative, and methodologically innovative
• Experienced in Children’s Ministry
• A team player and team builder
• Strong interpersonal skills

• A self-starter and hard worker
