Job Description

The Systems Engineer position presents an exciting opportunity to work in tandem with the Director of Production to lead all the production aspects of events and experiences taking place at Northshore. Northshore is a healthy, vibrant church on the eastside of Seattle, where we believe that Jesus can change everything, for anyone. Through this role, you will be ensuring that equipment is correctly used and functional, this builds the foundation of life-changing experiences.


WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Ensure that all production equipment is maintained and repaired as needed through a systematic approach
  • Develop systems that help organize all the production assets, upgrades, and logs
  • Provide production support and training for all production integrations
  • Maximize the use of existing equipment
  • Oversee audio excellence and training, developing, and holding to an audio philosophy
  • Oversee production installations


Equipment and Maintenance (40% 16 hrs.)

  • Provide recommendations for additional equipment needed to achieve Northshore production goals
  • Design, plan, and coordinate the installation of equipment upgrades and new equipment throughout the campus
  • Work with the Director of Production to forecast future budget needs for maintenance and upgrades
  • Provide multiple options for achieving goals to be fiscally responsible
  • Coordinate with IT department on effective computer and network-based technologies for media distribution or other production needs
  • Ensure that all production equipment is being maintained and updated accordingly


Rehearsals and Sunday Services (30% 12 hrs.)

  • Ensure all production aspects are prepared and functional.
  • Serve on Sunday teams in rotation as Audio Engineer, as well as any other production needs
  • Assists with set changes, both in planning and implementation


Staff Responsibilities (15% 6 hrs.)

  • Assist with all-staff meetings, planning, and implementation
  • Equip, train, and provide direct support for other events and ministries as needed
  • Partner with the Director of Production to ensure there is assistance for all events on and off Northshore’s campus requiring production support per the Event Media Support policy


Meetings and Development (7% 3 hrs.)

  • Participate as a leader in all Weekend Experience Meetings
  • Plan and prepare for all-staff meetings


Volunteer Oversight and Development (7% 3 hrs.)

  • Regularly scheduled systematic training of volunteers
  • Proactively relational with volunteer teams
  • Proactively recruit and train new volunteers
  • Provide consistent constructive feedback and growth opportunities for volunteers


WHAT YOU BRING

  • Proficient in wiring, soldering, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of technical systems
  • Able to operate digital consoles, specifically, the Yamaha Commercial Audio line
  • Able to set up audio systems, which includes, patching, routing, and system verification, specifically in Audinate systems
  • Familiar with the Shure Integrated Systems strategies and best practices
  • Familiar with various audio systems, media types, and large-format digital consoles
  • Experience in live audio situations, as well as studio environments and post-production work
  • Strong ethical standards: ability to create trust and integrity with co-workers, volunteers, and community
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills; able to manage a variety of tasks
  • Experience in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers
  • Experience in managing or coordinating projects and volunteers
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Administrative, attentive to detail, and able to maintain records and produce clear reports.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Able to tactfully handle stressful or confidential situations
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, but also able to work independently
  • Be a Member at Northshore (or pursue membership)
