Executive Pastor/Business Administrator

Cross Community Church

Job Description

Overview

Cross Community Church in Beaufort, SC is seeking a full-time Business Administrator to oversee all business operations. Planted in January 2017, Cross Community has grown from a launch team of 45 adults to an average weekly attendance of over 700 adults and children (We currently have 400 adult members). After spending six years as a portable church, in March 2022 CCC broke ground on a permanent facility that is set to open in the spring of 2023. Additionally, CCC has long-term goals to plant and revitalize more gospel-centered churches in the Lowcountry in addition to establishing a local ministry training center. Cross Community embraces a simple mission: Preach the gospel and make disciples, which we seek to accomplish through the 4-phase strategy of gathering, growing, giving, and going.

Cross Community is a church family cooperating with the Acts 29 Network, the South Carolina Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention. We affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as well as the theological distinctives of the Acts 29 Network. CCC is theologically reformed and governed by a plurality of elders. We practice text-driven, verse-by-verse exposition of the Scriptures as the primary approach to preaching, and we strive to be a church of both unconditional love and unapologetic truth. Though our musical style is more modern and contemporary in nature, we are a generationally diverse congregation and our song selection includes both traditional and modern songs and hymns. Our community groups are sermon-based discussion groups and we also provide opportunities for Bible study and intentional personal discipleship through gender-specific groups. We are heavily engaged in local outreach efforts and are supportive of global church planting and missions efforts as well.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in church/non-profit administration or a closely related business administration role. While a seminary degree is not required, it is preferred, and candidates who hold an undergraduate or master’s degree from an accredited Bible college or seminary will be given the strongest consideration. The candidate must be a highly organized, detail-oriented, self-driven individual who is able to sustain healthy rhythms in 1) personal walk with Christ, 2) family, and 3) ministry. The candidate will be chosen based on character, calling, competence, chemistry, and fitness for our staff culture. Additionally, candidates must be able to affirm and champion all essential doctrines and distinctives upheld by the church.

Consistently rated by various national publications as one of the most popular and beautiful small towns to live, Beaufort is an elegant, historic, charming coastal town, and Beaufort County (which includes Bluffton and Hilton Head) is currently among the fastest-growing counties in the United States. Beaufort is home to two active-duty military bases (Marine Corps Recruit Depot-Parris Island and the Marine Corps Air Station) and a Naval hospital, and is surrounded by historical sites dating back to the earliest days of our nation. Though Beaufort is home to one of the birthplaces of Protestant Christianity in the United States, the church-at-large has been in decline, and Cross Community longs to see revival and awakening come to the Lowcountry through the retrieval of faithful gospel proclamation, fervent prayer, and missional zeal.
