About The Point

The Point is a 120-year-old congregation with excellent programming, worship and instruction. In recent years, we have transitioned to a highly progressive congregation with a relevant ministry to impact contemporary culture. In 2015, our transition included a rebranding and name change to become The Point. It has been well worth the significant investment of resources, time and energy. This is a new day in the life of the church, requiring new thinking and strategy. Our Mission, “To Point people to Jesus and connect with each other,” is a lifelong process. Approximately 1,200 area residents are affiliated with The Point, and our average weekly worship attendance now exceeds 600. The fastest growing demographic in our congregation is young families, 25-45 years of age. We are a church united and committed to impacting our world for Christ! We are blessed with a rich heritage, outstanding facilities, a core of willing volunteers, and a team of capable leaders. Our leaders are committed to excellence and there is great continuity among our staff. Our Lead Pastor completed 15 years of ministry here in June 2017. Under his leadership, we have made significant changes and continue to do whatever it takes to achieve our mission. The Point is located in Seymour, Indiana, a community in south central Indiana (POP 19,300), which is positioned along Interstate 65, between Louisville, Kentucky and Indianapolis, Indiana. Having transitioned from a hometown church to a regional church, our reach extends to a 20-mile radius.
