Disciple Making Pastor Job Description Generation Church

Goal

We are actively seeking someone to lead and oversee the disciple making area at Generation Church

Overview

Making disciples is the most important thing we do. Our vision is to be disciple making followers of Jesus. We are looking to find the right person to help us continue to move in this direction. We also need this person to be a mature, self-feeding, follower of Jesus. (Hebrews 5:11-14)

Expectations

  • This is a full time position with flexible office/vacation hours.
  • Demonstrate and maintain the ability to meet the biblical qualifications for elders.
  • Have a willingness to serve with a “nothing beneath me mentality”.
  • Value investing in people for who they are and not simply for what they can do.
  • People come before tasks.
  • Possess the ability to effectively teach and lead in one-on-one settings, as wellbas small and large group settings.
  • Have the drive and ability to get your job done without being micromanaged.
  • Be an engaged member of the leadership team.
  • Bring new ideas to the table and don't shy away from sharing them.
  • Hold short accounts when dealing with conflict resolution. Whether that is with the leadership team, disciple making team leaders, or volunteers.
  • Duties
  • Oversee and grow our current disciple making areas:
  • Missional Communities
  • Equip Groups
  • Develop and coach new and existing Missional Community leaders.
  • Develop and coach new and existing Equip Group leaders.
  • Raise up, empower leaders, and share responsibilities leading the disciple making team.
  • Stay connected with the leaders by regular communication and encouragement.
  • Be willing and capable to speak during the weekly services (as needed).
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations and communication within the church.
  • Oversee and lead our current Shepherding Team (we have a part time Shepherding Pastor, with a team of volunteers).
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee baptism.
  • Hold quarterly trainings, connections and/or coaching sessions for Disciple Making areas.
  • Maintain Disciple Making area in the lobby to promote Missional Communities,
  • Equip Groups and any Disciple Making events.
  • Have a presence during the weekend services, connecting and engaging with the hurch body.
  • As needed be prepared to help with set-up, clean up, tear down of church wide events.
