Position Description Title -Director of Children’s Ministry
Reports to - Executive Pastor
Core Function - The Director of Children’s Ministry will help provide leadership in the areas of children’s ministry as it relates to Calvary Church and Calvary Church ministries. This leadership will come from:
-a personal commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ
-a mature faith and steadfast character
-reliance on the authority of Scripture and prayer -a sense of calling to an “equipping of the saints”
Qualifications
● A personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior that results in a life saved in obedience to the will of God as described in the Bible
● A desire to live into the staff values of humility, teachability, loyalty and fun
● Experience working with children from the ages of infancy through Fifth Grade in an educational and/or worship environment ● Excellent communication skills in small and large group settings
● Demonstrates ability to interact with staff members, pastors, parents, children and people from the congregation
● Demonstrates ability to recruit, lead and manage people, especially volunteers Key Roles
● Children’s Worship - Oversee and create the weekend and midweek worship services for infants through 5th grade/Plan the worship related to songs, large group and small group
● Volunteer Leadership - Recruit, train, prepare, encourage and raise up volunteers/Oversee the serving teams for Sunday and midweek children’s worship ministries/Communicate weekly with volunteers for prayer support and encouragement/Plan training and team building events ○ Calvary Kids, Xtreme, Celebrate Recovery Kids, etc.
● System Management - Give leadership to children’s worship at all levels ensuring the environments are safe and fun for children to worship/Oversee all aspects of the worship experience in collaboration with the volunteer teams
● Administration - Schedule all volunteers and prepare them two weeks ahead of time/Understand and work within the budget guidelines/ Work with the family team in partnering with parents/ Follow up with families and volunteers/Maintain clean and safe worship spaces for all children and volunteers/Maintain and follow child safety guidelines/Keep the database updated/Collaborate with other ministry leaders
● Community Outreach - Participate in staff meetings and provide innovative ideas to partner with our community in providing events and experiences for families ○ Daddy Daughter Dance, Touch a Truck, Easter Egg Hunt, Touch a Truck, VBS, etc...
● Planning and Visioning - Participate in staff meetings and team meetings providing insights into how the Children’s ministry will live into the mission and vision of Calvary Church
● Other - Additional duties as assigned Time Commitment - Full time Compensation Package - Available through the Executive Pastor
