Job Description:
About the Director of Student Ministry
This person will lead and strengthen the student ministry of Anderson Hills by building young people as whole persons in Jesus Christ. This involves students in grades 7th-12th and includes all programming for those ages. These include Sunday morning small groups, Wednesday night youth gathering, Confirmation, service projects, retreats/trips, and other student ministry activities.

Reports to: Executive Director
Supervises: Associate Director of Student Ministry
Responsibilities
Lead Volunteer Ministry Team
Develop teams of Christ-centered adults and students who will work together to achieve the youth ministry goals, as developed in collaboration with the Student Ministry Volunteers.
- Aids in the spiritual development of the Volunteers meets quarterly for inspiration, support, planning & leadership development.
- Recruit, train, and develop leaders as the ministry's needs evolve and require more volunteers.
- Provides curriculum guidance and support for all volunteers within ministry gatherings.
Coordination & Communication
Develop and manage a Christ-centered, sustainable, student ministry program in coordination with, and responsive to, the direction of the congregation, pastors, staff, and the volunteers.
- Maintain and update all communication outlets regularly, including the appropriate and proficient use of social media.
- Meet with the Executive Director at least weekly for the first year and at least bi-weekly thereafter.
- Be available to give talks/presentations to various groups in the congregation.
- Plan and communicate details of ministry events effectively and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate financial records and legal forms regularly.
Outreach
Build relationships with students and parents, working to draw them closer to Christ and the Church through personal contact, gatherings, and events.
- Plan and execute regular outreach events designed to reach new students.
- Maintain regular personal contact with students and parents.
- Regularly attend community/school events to support students and families.
- Leverage our proximity to Anderson High School for future ministry opportunities.
Fellowship
Provide opportunities for students to meet and develop relationships with other Christian students and adults through gatherings, activities, and events.
- Plan and execute regular gatherings dedicated solely to fellowship for students.
- Plan at least one annual intergenerational event.
Discipleship
Equip volunteers to lead and shepherd a small group of students.
- Identify, recruit, and equip adults and students for leadership.
- Helps volunteers organize students into small groups by age and gender for discussion and fellowship.
- Encourage/promote participation in events, retreats, and trips.
- Provides leadership and organization for Sunday morning Small Groups, Wednesday night youth group gathering, and other events planned.
Service
Provide opportunities for students to grow as servants and serve their peers, church, and community.
- Plans regular opportunities for students to serve.
- Provides support for current annual mission trips and explores new opportunities.
- Encourages students to attend mission trips and supports the volunteers who lead these events.

Education & Experience
- Relevant bachelor's degree, preferred
- Alternative sufficient field experience and relevant training
- 3-5 years of experience in a related field

Compensation
Salary commensurate with education and experience, including health insurance benefits and a matching retirement plan after one year of employment.
