                    FEDERAL WAY CENTRAL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

OVERVIEW

Federal Way Central Presbyterian Church (FWCPC) belongs to the Northwest Presbytery of the Korean Presbyterian Church in America (Kosin), which is part of a larger ecumenical body of the North American Presbyterian and Reformed Council (NAPARC).

Located in Federal Way, WA, FWCPC is a theologically Reformed church that has been faithfully proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to the greater Puget Sound region for over 30 years. We are committed to seeing lives transformed through the gospel as we seek to love God and love people, as vibrant worshipers and visible disciples of Jesus Christ.

Our standard of faith and doctrinal commitments are as follows: The Westminster Confession of Faith; The Westminster Larger and Shorter Catechisms; The Apostle's and Nicene Creed.


POSITION       Full-time English Ministry Pastor.

We welcome applicants of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds. While our church is part of the Korean Presbyterian Church in America (Kosin), the English Ministry serves a diverse congregation and seeks to reflect the multicultural body of Christ.


RESPONSIBILITIES

-       Preach weekly at the Lord’s Day worship services for both the English Ministry (average attendance: 15) and the Youth Group (average attendance: 15). Develop a preaching schedule/series and collaborate with the worship team and EM leadership.

-       Lead weekly Bible studies for both EM and youth groups.

-       Work closely with the EM steering committee to plan and execute ministry and administrative matters. This includes the training and discipling of core leaders.

-       Train and equip small group leaders and youth teachers.

-       Provide spiritual oversight and training for both EM and youth worship teams.

-       Lead membership, baptism, and confirmation classes as needed.

-       Maintain open communication and partnership with the Senior Pastor.

-       Offer pastoral care through shepherding, visitation, and counseling.

-       Plan and lead annual winter retreats. 

-       Provide oversight to the Sunday School department.


QUALIFICATIONS

-       Must have graduated from, or currently be enrolled in, an accredited Reformed seminary.

-       Must affirm the Westminster Standards and possess a working knowledge of Reformed theology.

-       Must meet the qualifications for elders outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 (e.g., above reproach, able to teach, spiritually mature, trustworthy).


COMPENSATION

-       Starting salary: $60,000 (negotiable based on experience, qualifications, and family situation).

-       Annual pension benefit equivalent to one month’s salary.
