Job Description

 Scope: Add vision, leadership, and authentic relationships into a ministry of students and volunteers. Serve as the pastor/teacher for both MS and HS students.  

·      Teach the Word. 

Awaken the youth to the presence of God in the world

·      Be forward-thinking.

Set the vision and plans on how to reach the next generation for Christ.

·      Collaborate well.

Invite others to invest in the vision and develop synergies to advance the mission. 

·      Be a confident, accessible leader.

Maintain a positive disposition and develop authentic relationships.

·      Steward resources well.

Understand budgets and work within the prescribed budget.

·      Empower personnel.

Recruit, train, and develop others to serve in their 'sweet spot.’ Raise the level of expectation regarding what God can do in and through followers of Christ.


1.    Be a strong teacher/communicator of God’s Word in large and small groups settings.

  • Provide clarity, conviction, and creativity in handling the scriptures
  • Fulfill the great commission found in Matthew 28:19-20

 

2.    Set the vision and direction for the student ministry.

  • Paint a picture of the future that involves changed lives
  • Declare the cause of Christ with excitement, commitment, and purpose

 

3.    Develop ministry strategies and steward ministry budgets.

  • Link the long-range vision with annual priorities and quarterly goals
  • Move the work of multiple people in a strategic direction
  • Manage ministry budgets with fiscal integrity and biblical stewardship


4.    Develop students in relational and empowering environments

  • Create outreach opportunities through invitational activities and events
  • Plan spiritual growth opportunities where students will learn biblical truths and apply them to their lives
  • Schedule service opportunities for students to give of their time, energy, and resources in the name of Christ
  • Champion adventure trips and mission trips to deepen spiritual experiences and enhance authentic relationships with one another and Christ.

 

5.    Replace yourself by multiplying leaders and teams of people

  • Recruit, train, and develop students, volunteers, and volunteer leaders to forge the vision into reality.
  • Ensure every volunteer and volunteer leader has the necessary resources to thrive in their ministry

 

6.    Oversee all aspects of the Student Ministries

  • The accuracy of student information on the database, rosters, waivers, health forms, attendance reports, etc.
  • The accuracy and creativity of the website, social media, and other forms of ministry communication
