Position – Director of Media and Digital Communications
Reports to – Minister of Church Music and Worship Arts
Concord Baptist Church, Anderson, SC, seeks a passionate, knowledgeable, personable, and creative Director of Media and Digital Communications. This person will recruit, develop and lead the media teams (AVL, Broadcast, and Communications). As a Music and Worship Arts ministry member, this person will provide spiritual, creative, and administrative leadership for all weekend services and events at Concord. Primary responsibilities include overseeing media and technical aspects of worship services, ensuring a stellar online worship broadcast, creating graphics for church communications, and managing updates on all digital media platforms.
Experience and Education
2-3 years of experience (preferably in a medium to large church)
or
Associate’s degree or higher in one or more of the following areas:
- Audio Engineering
- Broadcast
- Communications
- Graphic Design
- Media

Responsibilities
Production Management
- Recruit, train, develop, and shepherd a team of volunteers in the media ministry (Audio, Visual, Broadcast)
- Serve and oversee the audio, visual, photography, and broadcast teams for all worship services
- Schedule volunteers through Planning Center Online
- Maintain a high level of execution for all services
o Operate as the Service Producer ensuring all technical elements are in place and that volunteers are fully engaged and communicated to, prior to and during service
- Manage all AVL equipment across the campus
o Oversee the purchase, maintenance, and operation of all equipment
o Develop a detailed knowledge of the operation and integration of all equipment
o Train and equip both staff and volunteers to ensure the successful operation of equipment in various rooms
o Assess future technology needs and work with Worship Pastor and Business Administrator to implement purchase strategies and timelines
- Prepare the platform for rehearsals and weekend services (and as necessary for events)
- Oversee technical aspects for all areas of ministry including, but not limited to, children and students (this position does not run the tech but will recruit and build a team)
- Attend meetings as required by the Worship Pastor
o Weekly worship planning session and logistics meeting
o Ancillary/Seasonal planning meetings
- Oversee the church media budget
Digital and Print Communications
- Manage and maintain the church’s website
- Manage messaging on the church’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
- Create and work with vendors to provide graphics for publications and marketing
- Work with pastoral staff to develop marketing strategies for sermon series or church events
- Develop a volunteer team to help with digital and print communications
- Oversee the church marketing budget
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required for this position
- Advanced knowledge of media in the context of worship services
o Planning Center Online
o ProPresenter
- Knowledge of audio systems and large-format digital consoles for both FOH and Broadcast
- Knowledge of broadcast video environments
o Broadcast switcher with multiple remote cameras
o Ability to train volunteers on the operation of equipment
- Knowledge of lighting in the context of worship services
o Familiarity with DMX programming
o Familiarity with Lighting Consoles/Software and their operations
o Ability to train volunteers on the operation of equipment
- Knowledge of design and web services for graphics
o Adobe Suite
o Database software (Realm)
o Web design (Squarespace)

Physical Demands and Work Environment
