First Baptist Church of Greeneville, Tennessee is a warm & welcoming church full of people who love to worship and serve our Lord Jesus Christ. We currently average around 550 people in worship each week split between two worship services on Sunday morning. The Director of Children & Family Ministries is responsible to develop a comprehensive plan to minister to the children of First Baptist Church and their families. The primary focus of the Director of Children and Family Ministries is to lead students and their families to develop a strong Christian faith in the Southern Baptist tradition by building and supporting teams of adult volunteers to teach, mentor and sustain ministry activities. These programs include Sunday School, pre-school extended session, Vacation Bible School, the nursery, RA, GA, Mission Friends, Mother’s Day Out program, children’s missions, and other activities that include children and their families.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and collaborative Director of Children and Family Ministries with a passion for discipleship among children (birth – grade 6) and their families. The Director will partner with parents, grandparents, and adult volunteers to help children experience God’s love and grow into disciples of Jesus Christ. First Baptist Church Greeneville has an established children and family ministry in a large, vibrant congregation in Greeneville. This position will build on existing programs and expand the ministry to encompass holistic spiritual nurture of our children and families within the church and community. The Director of Children and Family Ministries will be part of a team that includes support personnel and volunteers. The work schedule will be a flexible 40 hours per week, with responsibilities on Sundays, some evenings, and some weekends.
