Associate Pastor of Music and Youth

Position

Lake Swamp Baptist Church, in Timmonsville, SC, is seeking an associate pastor whose emphatic areas of ministry will be music and youth. This person will lead music in our worship services and be a leader to our youth.

Our Location

We are a rural church that has been established for over 200 years. We are located just minutes away from the city of Florence, SC. While Florence is a growing and industrious city, many people are moving to our area to reside. It is a great area to start a family, raise a family, or even retire.

About the Position

Roles and Responsibilities

The position has a dual role – music and youth (teen). As the church continues to grow (Lord willing), we will have a need for additional ministerial staff. At that point, this dual role position will be divided between two members of the staff.

Worship Leader

-Assist the pastor in planning and leading the worship services

-Lead our services in blended worship through contemporary songs as well as traditional hymns and choruses

-Lead the choir in weekly rehearsals and in worship services

-Supervise the work of music volunteers and manage the materials and equipment related to the music ministry

-Create and maintain a schedule for all singers and all volunteers related to music ministry

Youth Ministry

-Lead and coordinate the overall direction of the youth ministryunder the leadership of the Senior Pastor.

-Plan, organize, and implement service opportunities and events for the youth

-Lead and teach the youth during the mid-week service

-Be a role model, teacher, and spiritual counselor to the youth

-Be involved the community with our youth, through visits to the schools and participation in school events

Qualifications

-Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing relationship with Him

-Commitment to Biblical purity

-Commitment to the mission and vision of Lake Swamp Baptist Church

-College degree in a relative field is an asset

-Must be a team player and a team builder

-Must be a servant leader

-Working knowledge of relevant computer software, sound equipment, general computer skills, and social media promotion

-The ability to recruit, motivate, equip, and schedule volunteer leaders
