Who We Are

As clearly expressed in our mission statement, our purpose as a local church is to ultimately glorify God. Bethel Baptist Church was started in 1959 by a group of God-fearing believers. It was founded on a strong belief in God and in the divinely inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. Sound Biblical teaching and preaching has remained foundational in everything we do. God’s Word is our supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. The church has always been mission-minded both sending and supporting missionaries. We currently support 20 different missionaries all over the world. Seven of these 20 missionaries were raised in our church. All ages are encouraged to take part in short-term mission trips. The church is composed of members and attenders from a 30-mile radius of Newell which includes 15 different communities and 8 different school systems. All age groups are well represented, especially young families. The goal of each of our ministries is to build up the body of Christ at all ages. We have a very special body of believers which includes a strong male leadership team. Bethel Baptist in Newell, Iowa is not affiliated with any denomination or association.
