About Tremont Temple Baptist Church - Macon

Tremont Temple Baptist Church is a historic African American Church in Macon, Georgia and has been on the cutting edge of social and civic issues since her inception in 1897. During the Civil Rights Movement of the late 1950's and mid 1960's, the Church served as a representative voice for civil liberty, through which we have sought Christ-like ways to bring knowledge of truth, righteousness, goodness and beauty to oppressed persons seeking a more productive life.

Through the years, the Church has hosted some of the pulpit giants to include; Dr. Vernon Johns, Dr. Benjamin E. Mays, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Reverend Jessie Jackson. For more than 110 years, the Church worshipped in downtown Macon.

On January 21, 2007, the Church began hosting its worship services in The Power Center on the campus of the Tremont Temple Baptist Church, located at 5263 Bloomfield Road in Macon, Georgia. We are Tremont, a church family that welcomes all who enter the doors of The Power Center, a multi-purpose edifice designed to serve the whole community through outreach ministry.
