Mount Vernon Baptist Church has been a beacon on the hill in the Mount Vernon Community of Rutherford County, NC since 1832. The church membership, like most churches, has declined in recent years, but the body is still alive and striving to serve God's people at home and abroad. A missing link in our church leadership right now is a leader for the children and youth. The church does have a part-time leader for the children and a church member who is filling in as the leader for the youth. The Church members feel very strongly that it is of utmost importance to hire a full-time Minister of Children and Youth to grow God's kingdom.
Currently, Sunday School and Worship have approximately 80 attending. There are approximately 11 children and 6-10 youth attending. The youth that are attending now are very anxious to learn and serve God's people. What a blessing it is to watch them grow and learn how they can be Salt and Light!
