Our Pastor Search Committee, representing the church family of Yorktown Baptist Church, is prayerfully seeking the man God is preparing for the role of Senior Pastor. With complete trust in the truth of the inspired Word of God, we identify the qualifications in Christlikeness for the position of pastor, shepherd, overseer, elder, in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1: 6-9, Ephesians 4:11-13, and 1 Peter 5:1-4.
Yorktown is an autonomous, elder-led congregation under the Lordship of Jesus Christ as Chief Shepherd. We are anchored in God's Word and consistently hold to the truth of scriptures for sound doctrine, and as the basis of all preaching and teaching. This church family is mission minded with multiple local and world-wide partnerships. We share a unique and valuable partnership with Yorktown Christian Academy on our campus.
This family of believers trusts in the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit and strives to maintain and fulfil the mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ who are growing in their passion for God and compassion for people. Our prayer is that those joining in the worship and ministry work here would find fellowship with God's people, and celebrate the joy in God's Son.
We are seeking the man who meets the qualifications set forth in scripture and exhibits the fruits of the Spirit in their life. The pastor we seek will demonstrate the heart of a servant leader and inspire with preaching and teaching the whole counsel of God's Word with courage and compassion, with clarity and humility.
As we recognize the sanctification of saints through the Holy Spirit, we anticipate growing together deeper in Christ and in loving service to the southside of Corpus Christi and beyond, with the goal of reaching all we are in contact with to come into a saving relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Under the leadership of the Senior Pastor, we desire to grow in the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. The pastor will understand the dynamics of the "Living Word" for daily application and training in godliness and obedience.
