Virginia Beach, Virginia
Since 1878, there has been a life-saving station on the coast of Virginia Beach run by the Coast Guard, within walking distance of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church. As times changed and technology evolved, the service station has fallen out of use, but the impact that foundation had on our community and our church has not. (Visit VB Surf & Rescue Museum to learn more!)
Currently, Virginia Beach continues to grow and reach new people to bring into the community, and so we at Virginia Beach United Methodist Church also want to grow and reach new people to bring into our church family. New ideas, new events, and new changes are on the horizon in order for us to shine God’s light to all people.
To this day, Virginia Beach United Methodist Church pulls from those life-saving roots when it reaches out into the community to, like a lighthouse, shine God’s light in all directions. We have waves on both sides of our building, and in order to be the lighthouse we have to be shining our light 360° all around us. Therefore, we hope to continue growing and bringing in new people to help strengthen our church’s faith life.
