Senior Pastor

Amherst Baptist Church is searching for a Senior Pastor. We are located in Morganton, NC.



Our Mission:

We at Amherst will continue to teach and grow in our faith through Bible study and prayer so that we will share Jesus’ Love. We will be dedicated to encouraging and reaching the needs of everyone as the Holy Spirit leads us to serve God.

Job Duties

• The Pastor shall have in charge the welfare and oversite of Amherst Baptist Church.

• They shall be an ex-officio member of all organizations, departments, and committees; they shall call special meetings of the deacons or any committee according to the procedure outlined in the by-laws.

• They shall conduct religious services on stated and special occasions, administer the ordinances, minister to the members of the church and community, and perform other duties that usually pertain to that office. They shall have special charge of the pulpit ministry of the church and shall in cooperation with the pulpit committee or the deacons price for pulpit supply when he is absent.

• They shall arrange for workers to assist in revival meetings and other special services.

• The Pastor shall preside at all church meetings except as otherwise provided by the by-laws.

• They shall be the administrative head of the church.
