⚠️ IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT NOTE: This position is located full-time in San Salvador, El Salvador, in Central America. Complete physical relocation to San Salvador is strictly required. Fully furnished housing with all utilities paid—is provided to fully support the pastor and their family in this transition.

PROFILE

Union Church is led by its people. An elected board and pastor shepherd the community together, while members serve Jesus through committees that carry out the gospel and care for one another. With 40% of attendees having been here for five or more years, you will find deep roots here and room to grow. We are proudly multi-denominational, united not by a single tradition but by a shared love for Jesus.  

We are offering a salary of $ 1,700 per month. Along with the salary, we provide a 4-bedroom parsonage with basic furnishings on the church grounds as well as a stipend for health insurance. This parsonage includes maintenance & utilities. This offers a family of 4 $3700 in value. The salary is competitive and is determined by the Board’s yearly review. The more the church grows, the greater the potential for salary increase. 

SUNDAY SERVICE

Our family is beautifully diverse: 10% missionaries, 33% expats, and 56% Salvadorans worshiping side by side.

Service starts at 10 AM and is recorded for Facebook. The morning includes worship music, visitor introductions, announcements, children's Sunday school, offering collection, corporate prayer, a sermon, altar call, closing worship, and dismissal. Afterward, the community gathers at a restaurant for fellowship. 

MEMBERSHIP & COMMITTEE

We average 70 in attendance, primarily aged 35 and above, with about 20 children actively involved.  

Committees carry our church forward. They are dynamic and can change with board approval. Currently, we have: Children’s Education Committee, (Sunday) Services and Meetings, Building & Grounds, Membership, Hospitality, Legal & Finance Committee, Missions & Outreach, Pastoral Search Committee, Ministries Committee. 

Beyond Sundays, men's and women's Bible studies, youth groups, and midweek study nurture discipleship and community. A pastor with vision will find eager partners ready to build something lasting. 

SKILLS

We are looking forward to working with a pastor who has a shepherd’s heart. Outreach, counseling, baptisms, dedications, weddings, funerals, and visiting the sick all await a person interested in building something meaningful.  

The ideal candidate values collaboration, thrives within an established framework of committees and governance, and welcomes partnership with our board and elders. We are prayerfully seeking the right pastor — someone who loves Jesus, loves people, and preaches the Word with conviction. We envision a thriving church filled with active ministries, family gatherings, outreach, and discipleship.
