Part-Time Worship Ministry Administrative Assistant
Position Type: Part-Time
Reports To: Worship Pastor
Hours: 20 hours per week (flexible; includes Sundays and occasional evenings)
Position Summary
The Part-Time Administrative Assistant will support the worship ministry through administrative organization, technical preparation, and volunteer support. This role assists in planning and executing weekly worship services, special events, and church-wide events, and coordinates musicians and volunteers. The ideal candidate is both ministry-minded and has a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Detail-oriented, with strong technical and organizational skills. This candidate will also support the mission and ministries of New Life Christian Church.
EXPERIENCE
3 to 5 years of working in a current worship ministry
Key Responsibilities
Worship & Music Leadership
- Assist in planning and preparing weekly worship services, and all functions that the worship ministry supports, in collaboration with the Worship Pastor
- Schedule and contract musicians as needed per the Worship Pastor
- Coordinate rehearsals and communicate expectations clearly with worship team members and volunteers
Technical & Production Support
- Manage service planning and team scheduling using Planning Center Services
- Prepare and organize lyrics, media, sermons and service flow using ProPresenter 7
- Help prepare multi-tracks for services each week
- Assist with worship-related technical needs in coordination with the production team as needed
Administrative & Office Support
- Perform general administrative duties related to the music and worship ministry, e.g., scheduling, maintaining music library, budgeting, and music newsletter.
- Utilize Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.) for communication, scheduling, and documentation
- Maintain worship ministry calendars, files, and planning resources
- Assist with communication between staff, musicians, and volunteers
- Attend weekly staff meeting
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency with Planning Center Services
- Working knowledge of ProPresenter 7
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Proficient in MultiTrack software
- Organize and manage all aspects of the worship ministry budget
- Ability to contract and coordinate the scheduling of professional musicians
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Heart for ministry and a servant-leader mindset, e.g., strong customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic musical knowledge, e.g.-Keys signatures, time signatures, clefs, ranges, etc..
- 3 to 5 years of experience working with Office and music software listed
- Experience working with and organizing volunteers.
- Familiarity with church production environments
Compensation
Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
