Job Description
The Worship Leader reports to the Minister of Music and is responsible for developing worship services in a worship band format that reflects the biblical, theological, and historical principles of worship embraced by McGregor Baptist Church. This position oversees the worship for the 3rd service on Sunday mornings, which is the band-led service.
Specific Duties
• Design and lead worship services in a worship band format
• Execute and support the vision for the worship ministry as laid out and communicated by
the Minister of Music
• Rehearse with the musicians who will lead the worship services
• Communicate effectively with musicians and technical teams
• Schedule musicians on PCO
• Meet regularly with the Minister of Music and Music Ministry Team
• Meet weekly with his direct report, our Tech Director
• Support the youth worship ministry under the direction of the Minister to Students
(McGregor Student Ministry) with oversight from the Minister of Music
• Participate in seasonal and occasional events as needed
• Run Worship Ministry Social Media accounts
• Assist as needed with running the MBC Social Media accounts
• Graphic Development for Worship Ministry consumption
• Prep for and lead in the development of “Worship at McGregor” song videos
• Lead all recording efforts (for mastering and music video needs)
• Supervise our full time Tech Director. Help cast vision and direction for “in service”
visuals, and the Digital Media components of the Worship Ministry
• Hospital Visitation

• The Worship Leader must demonstrate the fruits of the Holy Spirit as stated in Galatians 5:22.
This person must be respectful of his/her co-workers, gentle not violent or quarrelsome. He
should exhibit teachable, temperate, and compassionate behavior to all co-workers, members,
and contacts. Must maintain the highest level of confidentially.
• The Worship Leader must be a disciple of Jesus Christ whose daily life reflects a desire to grow in
faith and live in fellowship with God's people. Only if he is in step, will he be able to effectively
and properly supervise other Worship Ministry employees.
• The Worship Leader must be a member of McGregor Baptist Church and fully supportive of
the church Covenant and Confession of Faith.
• The Music Ministry Staff at MBC is a learning environment; the Worship Leader must be
committed to participating with others in an ongoing study of worship and the application of
sound biblical and theological principles to the corporate worship of the church. In addition, the
WL should be prepared to positively critique all aspects of the worship ministry and receive
critique from others.
• The Worship Leader must be a competent musician and able to develop the skills of amateur
vocalists and instrumentalists to build teams of worship musicians.
• The Worship Leader must demonstrate personal integrity and maturity in their dealings with
each other. They should be willing to participate in pastoral care to members of their teams.
• The Worship Leader must stay up to date on current social media practices and maintain
working knowledge of graphic design software and resources. A working knowledge of song
editing, mixing, and mastering software is preferred.

Credentials
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in music or related field from four-year college or university; or
one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.

instrumentalists to build teams of worship musicians.
• Knowledge of social media practices and graphic design software.
• Skills in song editing, mixing and mastering is preferred.

McGregor is a multi-generational congregation with a passion for biblical preaching and application, reaching the lost, and being light in the Fort Myers Community. Fort Myers is a beautiful city in Southwest Florida and is growing quickly! Known for its nearby beaches, Fort Myers has over 800,000 year-round residents. McGregor sits nestled right in the heart of Lee County on 120 aces. It is located on one of the busiest roads in the county with over 80,000 cars per day drive by the church.
McGregor Baptist Church opened its doors in 1958 as Southside Baptist Chapel “in the boonies" just outside the city limits of Fort Myers on McGregor Boulevard. Originally an independent mission church pastored by evangelist Dan Perkins, 51 individuals attended the first Sunday service on June 23, 1958. The first service was held in an old two-story farmhouse. Following approval by the Royal Palm Baptist Association of petition for recognition as a Southern Baptist Church, Southside officially became McGregor Baptist Church on July 7, 1958 with 55 faithful charter members. On April 19, 2015, the lay leaders of McGregor affirmed that Executive Pastor at that time, Russell Howard, would temporarily fill the leadership position of Senior Pastor for the foreseeable future.
On February 12, 2017 the Elder Body presented their unanimous recommendation for Russell Howard to be considered by the congregation for the Lead Pastor position, and on February 26, the church body affirmed and installed Russell Howard as the Lead Pastor.
