OVERVIEW


The Church’s Finance Director has the responsibility to ensure the ministries’ financial operations are processed and reported accurately and timely.  The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking individual who is able to interface well with a team, and adapt to shifting technologies.  We’re looking for a Christian leader with experience managing the financial operations of similar organizations.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Manage all financial areas of the church and its related ministries, including a preschool, Pre-K and K-12 school. He/She should be experienced in accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, reporting, financial services and regulatory compliance. 
  • Manage the personnel necessary to accomplish the assigned responsibilities - currently three people..
  • Current in the best practices in the financial management for churches and not-for-profit organizations.
  • Report to the church’s leadership regularly about the financial health of the church. 
  • Serve as the church’s primary contact with financial vendors.
  • Work with the Executive Director, Head of School, and Associate Pastor, other staff leaders, and lay committees to develop and execute a budget that prioritizes effectively the church’s mission and vision.
  • Ensure compliance with governmental entities, insurers, lenders, and other entities.
  • Report directly to the Lead Pastor.  


REQUIREMENTS


  • At least seven years accounting experience.  Church or not-for-profit related financial management experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting, internal controls, and reporting methods and standards within a not-for-profit.
  • Five years of experience managing people is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required (or bachelor’s degree in related experience).  Master’s degree preferred.
  • Effective at building strategic working relationships.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A growing Christian faith and character.
  • Must be engaged and active in a local church.
