Overview
The Musical Worship Pastor will lead the congregation into Spirit-led worship at the Sunday service and during special events taking place periodically throughout the year and assist in educating the congregation in becoming heart-felt worshipers of God.
Background
St. James is a liturgical church steeped in the Anglican tradition with charismatic roots embarking on a journey of blended musical worship, combining traditional hymns and contemporary Christian music using vocals, keyboard, guitar, and bass.
Up to this point, St. James has had a music ministry focused on the performance of four section leads in a choir led by piano/organ. While many St. James congregants appreciate the musicality of the choir, the congregation has not learned to become genuine worshipers, nor have they been taught how to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. We desire to become a congregation of worshipers who usher in the presence of God.
