The Mount Olive Baptist Church, Centreville, VA, believes God gives pastors to shepherd His people (Jeremiah 3:15); therefore, we are prayerfully discerning God’s chosen vessel for the senior pastor position. Candidates for this position must embody the pastoral characteristics of a God-fearing, spiritually-minded visionary servant leader deeply rooted in the tenets of God’s Word for Kingdom building. Further, candidates must have a heart for addressing the holistic needs of congregants and communities near and beyond, demonstrate effective communication and leadership skills, and practice Baptist doctrine.

The Mount Olive Baptist Church, established in 1885, is one of the premier global missional churches in the area. The Church is in Centreville, VA (population 74,000), a suburb of Fairfax County (population 1.2 million). Ranked as one of the best places to live in Virginia, Centreville is situated approximately 25 miles west of Washington, DC. Mount Olive Baptist Church borders Prince William County and Loudoun County. Nearby incorporated cities include the City of Fairfax, the City of Manassas, and the City of Manassas Park. Most of our members reside in these counties and cities. 

In the effort to advance the Kingdom of God, the core values of the ideal senior pastor candidate must mirror the core values of the Mount Olive Baptist Church. They are as follows:

• Community - Cultivating an encouraging environment where all people are working in unity, uplifting one another, and establishing relationships focused on love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24-25).
• Discipleship - Equipping and empowering all believers toward a confident, mature relationship with God for kingdom building through love, devotion, and unity (Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 4:11-13).
• Diversity - Creating a welcoming and intensely inclusive environment that goes above the cultural norm, embracing all people with an attitude of humility and an outpouring of love (Revelation 7:9).
• Evangelism - Encouraging the body of God to experience the joy of sharing the discipleship messages and spiritual teachings beyond the walls of the Church as devoted ambassadors of Jesus Christ (Romans 1:6).
• Excellence - Striving to do our absolute best and always seeking ways to improve (Titus 2:7; 2 Corinthians 8:7; 1 Peter 2:9).
• Service - Inspiring every member to display actions that utilize their God-given gifts and talents in Christian service to others that reflects humility, patience, hospitality, faith, and love of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 13:15; 1 Peter 4:8-10; Galatians 6:2; Romans 12:9-13).
