Lake Ozark, Missouri
Founded in the early 1900’s, Mount Carmel Baptist Church (MCBC) is a Southern Baptist Church in the beautiful community of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. The area is growing rapidly, and MCBC has experienced rapid growth over the past several years with over 50 baptisms in 2023 and 2024. In 2004, the church had under twenty members, but today has grown to over 700 members. In December of 2006, the church moved its campus to the current site which includes just over 6.5 acres at the intersection of Hwy 54 and Bagnell Dam Blvd. At the beginning of 2014, we had outgrown the church building and constructed a 7,000 sq ft sanctuary, foyer, and nursery.
Our Sunday morning attendance averages 200-250 and the church campus has experienced exciting enhancements over the past few years including all new concrete parking, lighting, a new children’s playground, among other improvements. Along with these improvements, the church has two additional phases planned that include constructing a new sanctuary, classrooms, and fellowship hall. MCBC is a vibrant fellowship with the following characteristics:
· Extremely friendly worship environment with many of our visitors commenting that this “is one of the most welcoming churches” and, “I feel the Spirit when I worship here”.
· All generations are well-represented in the congregation.
· Sound biblical teaching adhering to the Baptist Faith and Message.
· Excellent music ministry under our Minister of Music with vocalists, instrumentalists, and choirs
· Active youth and children’s ministries with year around programs.
· Joyful traditional worship with hymns in our early service (8:00am) and a more contemporary style in the late service (10:45am).
· Annual Budget of approximately $600K, of which we give over 25% to Missions.
