Job description:

We’re looking for a high-capacity, mission-minded Operations Director who loves building healthy systems that support ministry.

This role exists to ensure our church is operationally ready at all times, overseeing the administration, facilities, finance, HR, and events of the church. They do this by strengthening infrastructure, developing leaders, stewarding finances, and creating systems that allow our pastors and teams to focus on reaching people and making disciples.

The right person is strategic, can develop policy and vision at a high level, and ensures the details are executed with excellence.

Responsibilities

Team & Organizational Leadership

• Build, coach, and develop the Operations Team, including coordinators and team leads.
• Strengthen leadership culture through intentional development.
• Partner with department leaders to improve operational excellence across the church.
• Help create a healthy, life-giving staff culture aligned with our Lead Pastors’ vision

Human Resources & Staff Systems

• Oversee all HR processes, including onboarding, payroll, paid time off, and benefits. 
• Ensure current and future job descriptions are clear and maintained.
• Maintain the organizational chart and staff structure.
• Develop and implement policies that help staff meet departmental goals with clarity.

Financial Stewardship

• Oversee financial systems, reporting, and budgets in partnership with the Eldership.
• Ensure expenses are coded correctly, and departments operate within budget.
• Monitor giving processes and ensure proper cash-handling and financial safety policies.
• Oversee compliance with state and federal tax requirements.
• Strengthen financial clarity and accountability across all departments.

Facilities & Multisite Infrastructure

• Oversee facilities staff to ensure the janitorial and maintenance teams maintain cleanliness and building maintenance. 
• Oversee IT systems and support.
• Design facilities plans for current and future campuses.
• Assist launch teams to ensure campuses open on time and within budget.

Administration & Events

• Oversee the administrative staff to ensure systems are accurate, timely, and handled with discretion.
• Maintain the church calendar and coordinate building usage.
• Ensure bills are paid on time and church administrative needs are met.
• Oversee planning and execution of major campus events, coordinating across departments.
• Oversee data and metrics collection and reporting.

• Tech-savvy and quick to learn new systems (Google Workspace, Planning Center, Asana, QuickBooks, ChatGPT).
• A problem solver who stays calm under pressure.
• Teachable, self-aware, and emotionally mature.
• Fully aligned with our church’s mission, values, and culture.
• Proven leadership experience in operations, administration, or organizational management.
• Experience overseeing budgets and financial systems.
• Experience building systems, processes, and policies.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with pastors, staff, and volunteers.
