Job Description

The Sanctus Student Pastor provides spiritual leadership for Middle and High School students. He leads with the Pastoral Staff and Sanctus volunteers to create an exciting, equipping, and challenging ministry that engages students into a life-changing love for Jesus. The Sanctus Student Minister will lead with the Pastoral Staff to provide leadership for all trips and events, weekly student Bible study and small groups, and all other Sanctus Ministry events and plans.

The two major emphases for this pastoral position will be reaching as many students and families as possible and dynamic, measurable spiritual formation among our students.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a general overview. Duties for this job could change at any time.

  • Oversee all Wednesday PM Sanctus scheduled activities.
  • Create and implement the Sanctus schedule/calendar.
  • Devise and execute a plan for immediate and ongoing follow up with families of weekly students who are guests.
  • Implement a vibrant and loving system to care for current Sanctus students and families.
  • Implement a regular discipleship plan for lay people that serve in the Student Ministry.
  • Ensure that Sanctus small groups are effective and healthy.
  • Formulate and execute a creative, effective social media ministry and outreach strategy.
  • Ensure proper and ongoing recruitment, onboarding and training of the Sanctus Ministry Team.
  • Plan and execute creative ministry events and programs that minister to and disciple students and their families.
  • Increase TSF’s visibility and participation on local middle and high school campuses.
  • Provide leadership to Refuge/College ministries.

QUALIFICATIONS

Because employees and ministry volunteers serve in positions of spiritual influence and representation of the mission of this church, all individuals considered for employment must:

  • Profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
  • Demonstrate a life of discipleship and personal holiness consistent with Scripture (1 Tim. 3; Titus 1; Eph. 4:1–3).
  • Agree to uphold and not teach contrary to the church’s doctrinal statement.
  • Affirm and live in alignment with the church’s theological, moral, and ethical standards.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, including teaching and public speaking.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and mentoring abilities, effectively equipping both students and adult ministry leaders.
  • Possess strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan and implement student ministry activities.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively, collaborate well with others, and ensure tasks are completed with excellence.

Employment decisions will be based on spiritual maturity, biblical character, ministry competency, and alignment with the mission and beliefs of this church.

ROLE MODEL IN PERSONAL LIFE

  • Sunday morning worship in person attendance.
  • Personal & spiritual development plan coordinated with Supervisor.
  • Consistency in matters of excellence in work, punctuality, personal motivation, etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of Bachelor’s degree in ministry, leadership, biblical studies, etc.
  • 2 years experience working on staff at a church or accredited ministry organization.
  • Demonstrable experience and success in working with students and their families.

This position is a full-time, salaried position and will be evaluated at 60 and 90 days.
