Associate Pastor--- Central Campus

The Associate Pastor will be responsible for shepherding and caring for the people of Glad Tidings Central Campus alongside the Lead Pastor and the Executive Team. The purpose of this role is to cultivate internal health at the central campus by providing leadership in the areas of pastoral care, connections, discipleship, teaching, and staff support. This position will work to support Glad Tidings vision of growth, church planting, and multiplication by declaring hope and developing people.  He/she serves as the primary development and implementation of engagement pathways, teaching a minimum of once a month, developing and leading staff,  and sermon writing for the Central Campus that will prove pastoral leadership to the campus and assure the systems, practices and policies of the church responsibly and effectively support its ministry activities.  He/she will oversee life and direction of the central campus under the direction of the Lead Pastor. The Associate Pastor is responsible for designing, coordinating and overseeing a comprehensive ministry program focused on building disciples for Christ in alignment with the vision of Glad Tidings Church. This requires firm grasp and understanding of the beliefs, values and strategy of Glad Tidings and the ability to align staff and key leadership with its mission, vision and values. He/she must serve as an engaging spiritual leader and role model with a strong biblical background and be a visionary leader that develops others, a servant leader, shepherd and casts the vision God has given to the Glad Tidings Church Network. He/she will participate in weekly staff meetings/training, as well as creative planning meetings.

Our weekly services consist of Sunday morning service, Wednesday evening service, and small groups. 


Requirements: 

  • Full-Time ministry experience
  • Credentials with the Assemblies of God is good but not required
  • A driving passion for leading people to a fully devoted relationship with Jesus.
  • Preaching/teaching experience, as well as sermon writing. 
  • Discipleship and small group leadership 
  • Previously led a staff team in an associate or executive role
  • An ability to stay organized and achieve ministry goals 
  • Prayerful in disposition and teachable spirit
  • A positive outgoing personality
  • First Time guest experience in developing and implementing of engagement pathways: first time guest, volunteers, salvation, small groups, discipleship, assimilation 
  • A desire to further relationship with fellow team members, families, and the community
  • Experience developing and writing sermon content
  • Pastor Heart to serve others: nothing below you or above you
  • Exemplify a life of honoring Jesus
  • Lead your life and home spiritually 
  • Spirit-filled

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and develop the central staff team, direct reports include: Preschool, Kids, Youth,, College, Men and Women Ministry, Pastoral Care, and Facilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of Engagement Pathways
  • First Time Guests and Assimilation
  • Salvations
  • Small Groups / Discipleship Classes
  • Sermon Writing: aid with series ideas and content creation for Sunday morning services
  • Teaching at Central once per month – within series and common content
  • Facilitate Central Staff meeting (twice per month) by developing the team with alignment of the Senior Pastor’s vision
  • Lead and develop direct ministry report leaders:
  • Preschool and Kids
  • Youth and Young Adults
  • Men and Women’s Ministries
  • Pastoral Care
  • Facilities
  • Support and be the primary connection point for the existing onsite day care
  • Support the Glad Tidings Network by teaching on Sunday’s as needed at other campuses and help develop Engagement Pathways for other network campuses
  • Maintain strong communication and relationship with Direct Report and Senior Pastor to ensure the vision of the Senior Pastor is implemented in all aspects of the Central Campus.
  • Develop ministry strategy for Central Campus growth, assimilation, and development of leaders
  • Build teams and develops them as leaders 
  • Develop Small Group strategies for discipleship
  • Grow attendance through events and discipleship 
  • Actively follow up with staff, central campus families, and leaders
  • Relationally serve central campus pastoral care needs
  • Maintain relationship with Glad Tidings families o equip them to be authentic Christ followers
  • Develop leaders to fulfill the culture of Glad Tidings Church: Everyone Attends, Everyone Serves, Everyone Gives and Everyone Invites
  • Track data for measurable growth objectives for the Central Campus
  • Manage Administrative responsibilities
  • Attend and help lead weekly Staff Meetings 
  • Serve the Glad Tidings Church Network in other essential duties when called upon
