Generation is a church in Clayton, NC (Generationchurch.org) that is making a difference in our community by raising up and sending out disciple making followers of Jesus! We are looking to find the right leader to maximize our effectiveness at helping people experience a unique connection with God, not just in the building but throughout all of life.
At Generation, worship is more than the music before a sermon. Worship happens beyond the walls of the church every day, we are worshipers and desire to live a lifestyle of worship. The responsibility of a Worship Pastor is to lead others to live their lives like the lyrics of a song, continually praising God for His love and goodness. We want someone who:
- Values relationships. This doesn’t mean they are necessarily extroverted but they understand how critical it is to spend time with people. They need to enjoy being with others and understand the importance of bringing people together. If throwing a party isn’t in this person's skill set then they need to be able to surround themself with people that do.
- Loves to serve others. We say that serving is our privilege, that means we have a willingness to serve with a “nothing beneath me mentality”.
- Is a self-starter and initiative taker that is able to start new things and follow them through. Not averse to taking risks or big steps.
- Is creative. We love new ideas, even the ones that don’t work…let’s keep trying different ways to pull into the mission and vision God has given us.
- Understands the tech stuff! We have a part time tech assistant, but tech is an area you need to at least have basic knowledge and understanding of.
- Knows how to have fun! We work hard and we play hard. Can you pull off an epic prank?? You may be the man or the woman for this job.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for planning, organizing, and spiritually leading multiple worship experiences on weekends and Wednesday nights
- Recruiting, training, and building a worship team
- Planning and organizing worship experiences to meet weekly time requirements
- Provide leadership and oversight to the prayer team.
- Creative areas...videos, stage design, livestream, etc.
