Family Pastor Position

Christian Life Center is seeking a Family Pastor who will make disciples of children, youth, and their parents. The right person will create an environment where preschool through high school aged students can learn about the amazing life of Jesus Christ and His Gospel and live out lives of faith in Him. The Family Pastor will pour into and equip parents to lead their children Biblically.

Who We Are

Christian Life Center (CLC) is an Assemblies of God church located in beautiful Paso Robles, California. Paso Robles is nestled in the central coast county of San Luis Obispo.

There are many great schools serving our county, from preschool on up to Cuesta College and Cal Poly University. Paso Robles is a small town that has had recent growth, while maintaining a small-town charm. We have approximately 6,000 students and their families in our city that need Jesus. Our church is becoming a multi-generational church with a number of new families with children in attendance. Life groups and prayer are a vital part of our church community. We have been called to missional living, to living out the command of loving God and loving others.

Historically, CLC has had a large youth group through which many community youth have been discipled. At this present time, we do not have an active youth group. We have a giant heart for missions and a strong history of engaging missions both at home and abroad. We have seen many of our youth follow their heart and calling into missions. At Christian Life Center, we believe that the Cross of Jesus Christ changes everything! We are committed to equipping our youth and families to live out the Gospel in our community and the world.

What CLC needs is a Family Pastor with a heart for ministering to children, youth, and families who will run with the opportunity to grow a new vibrant ministry within our community.

Responsibilities

• Cast vision, coordinate, and carry out regular weekly children’s ministry and youth ministry at Christian Life Center.

• Minister to children, youth, and families in the surrounding community throughout the week, including visiting local schools and participating in Christian clubs at schools in the area.

• Plan and carry out special events for children, youth, and families throughout the year, including seasonal camps, trips, and ministry opportunities.

• Recruit, train, equip, and lead volunteer youth staff and children’s ministry leaders in conjunction with the Lead Pastor.

• Develop a ministry to parents and families.

• Be part of the teaching team at Christian Life Center for Sunday mornings.

• During a work week, time will be spent in meetings, preparing for youth and children's ministries/activities, sermon preparation, and performing other duties in conjunction with the Lead Pastor.

Qualifications

• Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.

• Have a pastoral spiritual gifting.

• Have a lifestyle consistent with the Biblical requirements for leaders (1 Timothy 3:1-13, 2 Timothy 2, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4).

• Know the Bible and be able to teach and preach, applying faith to everyday life, taking into consideration the full counsel of the Bible, and articulating the Gospel clearly.

• Have working knowledge of the needs of children, youth, and their families.

• Be self-motivated, possessing a pioneering spirit. Be able to build a ministry and work in the freedom of one’s own calling, casting vision for children, youth, and families at CLC and persevering through challenges.

• Be able to build multiple volunteer teams and lead them in a unified direction.

• Become familiar with and subscribe to the Tenets of Faith held by the Assemblies of God. Be willing to align yourself to the church governance of the Assemblies of God.

• Demonstrate wisdom and discernment in decision making.

Education and Experience

• Preference will be given to candidates with Christian Ministry experience of at least 3 years and/or candidates who possess a ministry related college degree

Compensation Details

• Salary Range: 50-55k depending on experience

• No benefit package

• Sunday attendance between 75-100

• Preschool on site with 30 students and staff

• Church owns property and buildings free and clear
