Teaching Pastor

Green Valley Community Church in Placerville, California is looking for a Teaching Pastor. This person will be a part of the Executive Team which is led by the Lead Pastor and will be responsible for helping to lead Green Valley’s efforts as a kingdom-building church in our community and beyond. The Teaching Pastor’s main objective will be to provide pastoral direction through teaching and the leadership of staff and volunteers. This role exists in order to enhance our teaching team, as well as to provide executive-level leadership over our Next Generation ministries. 

What you’ll be doing:

• Serving as a member of the Executive Leadership Team which is responsible for the overall vision and direction of the church
• Serving as a member of the Teaching Team
• Having executive oversight of NextGen ministries which includes leadership responsibility for the High School Pastor, Jr. High Pastor, Elementary and Nursery Director
• Providing leadership training to staff and volunteers

What skills you need to have:

• Possess a strong understanding of the Bible and exhibit the ability to teach it to those with less understanding 
• Demonstrate executive-level leadership skills and ability to manage people
• Preaching and teaching gifts
• Strong written and communication skills
• Experience in Next Generation ministries
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Passion for sharing Jesus to the world

Placerville, California is a beautiful area in the foothills of the Sierras. We are close to the city of Sacramento but also close to the mountains. There are a lot of outdoor opportunities and we are only 1+ hours from Lake Tahoe. There are a lot of open spaces and Placerville is a quaint historic town. We have friendly people and a great community as far as activities and events.
