Living Room Coffee Craft

Position: Barista

Starting wage: $16-18/hr. + tips

The Living Room Coffee Craft coffee shop is owned and operated by The Home Church, a Christian Church.

Responsibilities

• Dial-in espresso and steam milk consistent to LR specs and standards; craft drinks to recipe

• Demonstrate ability to keep a tidy workspace and maintain efficient workflow to keep up with morning and weekend rushes

• Graciously engage with guests and demonstrate Christian hospitality in all interactions

• Contribute to maintenance of bar equipment, including but not limited to: daily cleaning of espresso machine, grinders, milk drains, and coffee pots

• Assist team when needed: take orders, wash dishes, bus tables, restocking, set up and tear down of outdoor patio, basic kitchen prep

• Go above and beyond to serve guests and coworkers when given the opportunity.

Requirements

• Prior barista experience and coffee knowledge

• Teamwork mentality, attention to detail and enthusiasm to keep learning

• Ability to stand for duration of 4.5hr shift, lift 25lbs, and work in close proximity to teammates

• Demonstrate proficiency in operating a manual espresso machine: dialing-in, pulling espresso shots, milk steaming and bar flow

• Knowledge of sanitation, food preparation, and food safety practices

• Already have or be willing to obtain a Food handlers’ certificate

• Sign and acknowledge Home Church employee standards and code of conduct

• Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be plugged in to a local church

• Prior experience with La Marzocco espresso machines is a plus

Compensation

• Starting Hourly Rate: $16-18, commensurate with experience

• Eligible for tip sharing after 2-week training period, or 8 training shifts, whichever comes later and eligible for raise after 90-day period
