Lead Pastor

Valley Community Chapel in Yucca Valley, California is looking for a new Lead Pastor. This person will be the head of the ministry of Valley Community Church and serve as the primary preacher. They are looking for someone who is a servant leader, communicates well, and has at least 5 years of experience in ministry. Yucca Valley is a gateway community to the Joshua Tree National Park with residents of all ages and has become a large vacation rental destination. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and serve a dedicated team, as well as reach a community that is changing and growing.

What you’ll be doing:

• Preaching, teaching and leading the church

• Spiritually overseeing the preschool daycare

• Working and connecting with teams and volunteers

• Communicating and teaching the Bible on Sunday and Wednesday

• Strong relationship with Jesus

• Vision and integrity

• Proven servant leader

• Excellence in being part of a team and building teams

• Excellence in teaching the Word verse-by-verse and able to connect with all ages

Most people move to Yucca Valley to enjoy the weather, enjoy the spread-out housing and open spaces, small-town feel, and the desert lifestyle. They are located adjacent to the community of Joshua Tree and the Joshua Tree National Park which has become extremely popular in the past 4 years. They have four seasons with a high of around 100 degrees and a low of about 35 degrees. The area is in a valley surrounded by mountains with, almost always, blue skies, beautiful sunrises, and sunsets. They are about 2 hours from the beach, 1 hour from the mountains of Big Bear, and 2 ½ hours from the Colorado River and Lake Havasu.
