Responsibilities

• Follow our church covenant, articles of faith and By-Laws

• Preach The Gospel

• Promote evangelism

• Perform regular visitations to members and others in need

• Administer the Lord’s Supper and Baptisms

• Watch over the spiritual welfare of the members

• Cultivate church growth as well as spiritual growth

• Encourage continued fellowship

Qualifications

• Have a comprehensive understanding of the Bible

• Be qualified for the office according to 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9

• Degree in Divinity or Theology preferred

• Be officially ordained

• Experience preferred, but not required

Our Beliefs

• We believe that Jesus Christ, the sinless eternal Son of God was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of Mary, a virgin, and is true God and true man.

• We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and equal in essence while distinct in personality and function.

• We believe in “That Blessed Hope” the personal, premillennial, pre-tribulation and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, when the Church will be “gathered unto Him”.

• We believe that the church which is Christ’s body is the spiritual organism consisting of all born again believers of the New Testament dispensation.

• We believe that baptism by immersion should be administered to believers only as a symbol of their belief in the death, burial, and resurrection with Him and that communion should be partaken of by believers to show forth His death “till He come”.

• Providence Baptist Church has a pulpit standard of KJV.

Providence Baptist Church, located in rural western Indiana, is in search of a full-time Pastor. Our church is centrally located between the three towns of Linton, Jasonville and Worthington, IN.

Our congregation is tight knit, as well as exceptionally welcoming and loving. Everyone is greeted with handshakes and smiles, as we truly care for the lives who walk through our doors. We enjoy being able to fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Our congregation loves to worship through song, praise, and diving into the word of God. We strive to be a caring church in a troubled world.

Our church fervently supports missions as we look to spread The Gospel beyond just our own community. We yearn to see more souls saved, both locally and globally (Matthew 28:19-20).

We are an Independent Baptist church that trusts God and his plan for us. We know He will provide the right individual to lead us and cultivate stronger relationships with Him.
