Senior Pastor

Lynnhaven Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist church seeking a biblically sound servant leader who is committed to advancing the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. As outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, the successful candidate will possess the gifts of leadership, preaching and teaching. The candidate should be a prayer warrior that chooses to fight personal and spiritual battles through prayer and the wisdom and discernment of the Lord. It is important to be able to communicate God's Word to the congregation in worship. A commitment to visit those in need in hospitals, nursing homes and private settings is a quality much to be desired. Above all, a passionate love for Jesus Christ and His people and the lost in the world is essential.

Lynnhaven is a conservative, Christ-centered Baptist Church in Pocomoke City , Maryland. The church desires to win our community to Christ and to disciple believers to Christian maturity. The church is committed to the purposes of evangelism, discipleship, worship, missions, fellowship and service.

Lynnhaven was constituted as a church and affiliated with the SBC on June 2, 1963. The physical plant is situated on eight acres and includes a 300 seat auditorium, ample classrooms and a large fellowship hall and kitchen. We have an active membership of 125 and 15 non-members. Our budget for 2022 is $334,835.

Lynnhaven is actively involved in multiple outreach and mission efforts that span local to international efforts. It has a positive reputation in the community and is known to assist in times of need.

Pocomoke City is located on the banks of the beautiful Pocomoke River. Water and recreation opportunities abound. The average age of the community is 39, with an ethnic breakdown of 49% white and 47% African American. Employment opportunites continue to grow with the planned expansion of a NASA site. Sysco Wholesale Food Service is another large employer.

The membership at Lynnhaven is comprised of many long-term members who bring wisdom and commitment to the work of Christ. We are also blessed to have a vibrant and very active children's and youth ministry. After the retirement of a long-term pastor, we look forward to seeing where God will lead as we seek a new Pastor.
