Worship Minister/Pastor

Beach Road Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Minister / Pastor to oversee the Worship Ministries of our church and to serve in other areas, depending upon giftedness, skills, and abilities. The worship minister/pastor will have primary responsibility for leading the church in worship on Sunday mornings and in various other services and contexts. He must be a capable vocalist with administrative and leadership ability. This is a leadership position that requires an ability to shepherd and lead one or more ministry areas.

Worship

• Oversee song selection, media preparation and presentation, sound and lighting enhancements, set design, and coordination of all instrumentalists and vocalists
• Lead (or provide leadership for) praise and worship in all scheduled church services and events
• Direct all weekly activities and rehearsals necessary to facilitate worship in services and church events
• Staff each worship service with adequate musicians, vocalists, tech team, and leadership
• Direct maintenance and care of worship equipment including oversight for each worship service
• Use Planning Center to schedule volunteers for upcoming services and provide worship elements, including resources to equip team members to lead/serve

Leadership and Planning 

•  In consultation with the Pastoral team, plan the corporate worship services of BRBC with prayer, conceptual forethought, theological accuracy, and musical appropriateness
• Prepare music/worship plans and work closely with the pastoral team to ensure that worship supports the overall teaching ministry and mission of the church
• Recruit, train, and empower worship team members according to their gifting, ability, and interests
• Provide and encourage ongoing worship education and expose worship teams to training opportunities through other ministries, books, and conferences
• Develop and oversee the annual worship budget with stewardship and excellence

Requirements

• A deep and abiding love for God that flows from a persistent devotion to God through prayer and Bible study and is clearly visible in life and ministry
• Skill as a vocalist with experience leading worship in a contemporary or blended context (ability to play an instrument preferred)
• Experience providing vocal and instrumental direction and development for a worship team
• Relational skills and an enthusiastic presence for leading a moderately large (500 – 750) church in worship
• Strong ability to listen, motivate, cooperate with, and lead teams of both volunteers and paid staff
• Capability in organization, administration, and interpersonal relationships (or the demonstrated ability to recruit others who provide these)
• Skilled in worship-related technology, including sound, lighting, media computers, video projection (ProPresenter), and other related software and equipment
• Undergraduate degree required or in progress (seminary training is preferred)
