About Dayspring Church

WELCOME TO DAYSPRING METHODIST CHURCH

“Dayspring” is a biblical word that describes Jesus Christ; it refers to the first light of day- a new beginning. Engage with us in a fresh, simple, and authentic approach to following Jesus and worshipping God.

Since our inception, we have felt called to build a “church without walls” that does not hold people captive inside the church or keep people on the outside looking in. We want to create opportunities for people inside and outside of our community to connect with the ultimate Dayspring - Jesus Christ- as we grow in our faith and learn to love God and our neighbor.

Whether you’re still searching for meaning and purpose in life or you’ve been a lifelong follower of Jesus, a warm welcome awaits you at Dayspring!

OUR STRATEGY:

We believe that the best way to pursue God’s will for Dayspring is by Connecting to Christ and each other, Growing in our faith, and Loving our neighbor.

When we gather as a community for worship, our most profound hope is that all people will have an opportunity to connect with God by the power of the Holy Spirit. This unique, corporate time of divine connection is the heartbeat of our community. We also pray that this time of fellowship will spark relationships among brothers and sisters that will be life-giving and even life-saving. Although our culture tells us we are more connected than ever, isolation and loneliness are crushing realities that starve our souls. Rather than hiding in fenced-in backyards, we want to be a front-porch church that empowers a robust sense of authentic, Christian community.

Following Jesus is a dynamic, life-changing process of growth that provides the nourishment we need to thrive in the face of life’s peaks and valleys. The degree to which we are vitally connected to Christ is the degree to which we are able to become the men and women God is calling us to be. Our capacity to grow in our faith is intimately related to our ability to find a group of people who can help us along the journey. Isolated Christians will inevitably become static, so we are convicted in the belief that every Christian should be committed to a group that will empower them to:

1) form meaningful relationships,

2) grow in their relationship with God and

3) love their neighbor well.

Acts 2:42-47 describes the kind of community that we believe is possible even now.

In the tenth chapter of Luke’s gospel, a lawyer tested Jesus by asking, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus turns the question back on the lawyer by asking how the Mosaic law would answer his question. The lawyer responded with “you shall love the Lord your God…and your neighbor as yourself.” Jesus’ response to the lawyer is critical to our understanding of what it means to live “the good life”: “You have given the right answer; do this, and you will live.” If the love of God and neighbor is the hallmark of our way of life, Jesus promises that we will know what true life is, both now and forever.

Our deepest hope is that as our community Connects to Christ and Grows in our faith, we will be empowered to lead transforming lives of love. Our prayer is that our family, neighbors, coworkers and classmates will be captivated by the overflow of God’s love in our lives. We long for the love-starved world around us to find abundant nourishment when they experience God’s love through us. We design every Dayspring event, group, and ministry area with this goal in mind: Feed our love-starved culture by empowering Christ-filled lives.
