Worship and Technical Director (Full-Time)

Salary Range: $45-$52,000.00 annually

Reports To: Worship Pastor / Creative Arts Director

Schedule: Approximately 35–40 hours per week, including Sunday services, midweek

rehearsals, holidays, office hours, and special events

Position Summary

Strong Tower Christian Church is seeking a spiritually mature, creative, and technically

skilled Worship and Technical Director to lead the church’s worship ministry and

oversee all audio, video, lighting, presentation, and broadcast systems. This full-time

role combines worship leadership, production excellence, creative planning, team

development, and ministry discipleship. The ideal candidate loves Jesus, possesses strong vocal and musical skills, and has a passion for fostering a culture of authentic, engaging worship.

Core Responsibilities

Worship Leadership

-Lead worship during weekend services, rehearsals, holidays, and special events.

-Select worship songs and prepare arrangements, charts, tracks, and other music

resources in alignment with the church’s vision and message themes.

-Coordinate and schedule musicians and vocalists, ensuring teams are prepared

and supported.

-Foster the spiritual, musical, and numerical growth of the worship ministry

through prayer, discipleship, coaching, and regular communication.

-Play an instrument (pianist/keyboardist), and provide musical direction as needed.

Technical and Production Leadership

-Direct live production for weekend services, rehearsals, holidays, and special events.

-Oversee audio, video, lighting, presentation, livestream, and broadcast systems

to provide consistent, high-quality production for in-person and online worshippers.

-Create and execute service plans, stage designs, technical cues, and production

workflows in collaboration with pastoral and creative teams.

-Maintain, troubleshoot, and update AVL systems, including firmware, preventive

maintenance, equipment replacement planning, and vendor or integrator

relationships.

-Manage multi-camera video, stable streaming bandwidth, presentation software,

and broadcast audio mixes.

Team Development and Administration

-Recruit, train, schedule, mentor, and retain musicians, vocalists, and production

volunteers, building healthy rotations and a strong ministry culture.

-Lead weekly rehearsals, team huddles, and individual training sessions.

-Participate in staff and creative planning meetings and collaborate with church leadership and other ministries.

-Develop and manage the annual worship and technical ministry budget, including

strategic capital expenditures.

-Maintain organized calendars, service plans, equipment records, music resources, and ministry communications.

Qualifications and Character

-Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

-Demonstrated Christian faith, spiritual maturity, and commitment to the Bible-

based mission and core values of Strong Tower Christian Church.

-Proven experience leading worship, directing musicians and vocalists, and

playing the keyboard and/or piano. Preferred qualification would be the ability to teach other instruments.  

-Three to five or more years of relevant worship, AVL, church production, or live

entertainment experience preferred.

-Strong knowledge of music theory, worship planning, arranging, and rehearsal

preparation.

-Advanced proficiency with digital audio systems and networks, professional

presentation software such as ProPresenter, multi-camera video systems,

livestream platforms, and DMX lighting controllers.

-Ability to recruit, develop, mentor, and pastor team members with patience,

clarity, and emotional intelligence.

-Calm and dependable under live-production pressure, with the ability to explain

complex tools and processes simply.

-Candidates should have a Bible-based theology, heart for worship, technical excellence, leadership, and helping others grow in their faith and service.
