Senior Pastor

First Baptist Church, Collinsville, IL, is looking for its next Senior Pastor. After a ten year plus length of service by the previous pastor, FBC engaged an intentional interim for the past year. Our desire was to prepare for pastor next and we are ready. Do you have four to six years minimum experience as a senior or associate pastor? Do you have or are working on a Master’s degree from a conservative seminary? Are you committed to expository preaching? Does leading as part of a team excite you?

First Baptist Church has a long and rich history of being led and fed by a succession of Godly ministers of the Word which has resulted in a congregation of mature, knowledgeable followers of Jesus Christ. The church strives to provide believers with a climate in which to worship the Lord, develop personal spiritual growth by the exercise of our God-given gifts, and a heart to love each other and attract and lead our community into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe the Bible is the foundation for both our faith and our daily lives.

In May of 2021, we began meeting in person with a reduced attendance. Many of our young families have failed to return or have chosen to attend elsewhere. Our desire and prayer is to grow our congregation and warmly welcome old and new people into our fellowship, especially the unchurched.

Today we are a congregation of believers with an average age of 60+, but is starting to trend younger. During the Covid pandemic, we began streaming our service online and continue to do so. We have recently added a volunteer in digital marketing to help us communicate more effectively.

Our ideal candidate will have solid roots in the Midwest and a Masters degree from an accredited seminary.
