Assistant Music Director

Purpose

Assist the Director of Music and Worship in maintaining and building a comprehensive music ministry

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary music director for multiple ensembles (vocal and instrumental)

• Serve as the secondary director of the Sanctuary Choir.

• Actively enlist new members into the music program.

• Assist director with follow up on absent or ill members.

• Assist Director of all administrative needs including, but not limited to: prepping music for rehearsals, keeping rosters current for all groups, entering weekly attendance, maintaining music library and making sure rehearsal areas are in order and ready for use

• Maintain comprehensive communication system for Music Ministry

• Input worship material into ProPresenter for use on Sunday morning and special events and services

• Coordinate Children’s Choir program including recruiting and training of all volunteers.

• Maintain all musical instruments, equipment, and robes; recommend replacement repairs as needed.

• Attend workshops clinics to stay current with music, methods, and materials.

• Coordinate and lead annual Fine Arts Summer Camp

• Recruit, equip and deploy at least 5 new volunteers each year.

• Actively participate in all meetings including Program Staff, Music and Arts Council, etc

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Executive Director of Music and Congregational Life

Worship-Related Responsibilities

• Attend weekly worship planning sessions to create engaging and dynamic worship services.

• Serve as worship leader for 8:00 11:00 services

• Serve as the Organist/Accompanist as needed.

• Ensure adequate and appropriate music for all funerals and weddings

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Music

• Administrative and Communication skills needed

• Ability to work with people

• Team builder
