Lead Pastor/ Senior Pastor/ Teaching Pastor

First Christian Church (FCC) is seeking a full-time Lead Pastor who is gifted in teaching and preaching the Word of God. The successful candidate will have a strong background in visionary leadership, ministry development and discipleship for a congregational, multi-generational church with a proven track record for implementing these strategies. The candidate will have strong people and communication skills and a passion to reach people for Jesus. We desire a pastor who will challenge, grow and lead the church. One who is not afraid to talk about difficult subjects with care and compassion as we collectively seek God’s Truth. The ideal candidate will have background and interest in music and worship service ministries.

Job Requirements:

Prepare and teach weekly sermons for worship services

Challenge and grow church goers in their individual faith journeys

Collaborate with worship ministry leaders in direction and vision of worship services

Engage with church goers and community members

Provide pastoral care and guidance, as needed

Lead, influence, and define the vision of FCC as we embark on the next 100 years.

Guide and empower volunteer teams

Spiritual stewardship of our staff, encouraging personal growth and organizational harmony.

Qualifications:

Deep knowledge and understanding of the Bible with the ability to bring people to Jesus through relationships in and outside of the church.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited Christian college is desired.

Minimum of 5 years of ministry/church experience with some experience in a lead or teaching role preferred

Background in worship ministry is preferred

High energy with wisdom to lead through change

Experience leading volunteer teams

Participation in a multi-staff setting preferred

FCC is a multi-generational, non-denominational church celebrating our 100th year in 2024. Located in the Milwaukee, WI to Chicago, IL corridor, the church serves the community with weekly worship services, a strong kids and teens ministry, and a volunteer run foster-family assistance program. We meet in a 55,000 sq ft facility built less than 25 years ago which is debt free.
