Youth & Teaching Pastor

Principal Function

The Youth & Teaching Pastor will lead our middle and high school ministries to make gospel-centered disciples for the glory of God. This includes modeling and coordinating evangelism efforts; helping students grow into mature followers of Christ; and leading them to live on mission on their campuses. The ideal candidate will have a dynamic personality, strong relationship building skills, passion for evangelism, experience in discipleship, and be a detail-oriented hard-worker. This person should be a leader who is a self-starter and is comfortable leading other leaders. They should be skilled in adapting their ministry strategy to a particular context.  The Youth & Teaching Pastor should have a desire to lead and preach beyond the youth ministry to contribute to the overall purposes of the whole church.

• Reports to Lead Pastor
• Full-time with benefits, salary commensurate with experience
• Must agree with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

General Responsibilities

• Design and execute an outreach and evangelism strategy that fits our area’s culture and context.
• Align a disciple-making strategy with the larger strategy of First Baptist Wentzville.
• Equip and provide opportunities for students to serve within the church and community.
• Recruit and equip a team of volunteers to multiply our impact.
• Identify and train student leaders to take ownership of the ministry.
• Build relationships with school leaders in an effort to be a presence on middle and high school campuses.
• Oversee the weekly Bible study groups and Wednesday night programming for students.
• Plan, schedule, and execute various events, trips, and retreats to support the ministry.
• Build relationships with and equip parents, leading them to make disciples at home.
• Provide pulpit supply, counseling, hospital visitation as needed.
